KENT, Ohio -- The Kent State Golden Flashes feature 18 returning starters (9 offense, 7 defense, 2 specialists) and 53 letterwinners from last year’s team that finished with a 3-9 overall record, 2-6 in the MAC East for fifth place. Head coach Paul Haynes, already in his fifth year in leading the Kent State football program, will lead the Golden Flashes to open the year at defending CFP National Champion Clemson on Sept. 2, before returning home to Dix Stadium against Howard on Sept. 9. The Golden Flashes complete the non-conference schedule with road games at Marshall on Sept.
