Zak Irvin out for 6-8 weeks

The Wolverines have high hopes for a strong bounce back from last year, but a big part of achieving a improved level of play will involve having better health. The time leading up to the season though will be without one veteran players, as John Beilein announced on Wednesday evening that junior Zak Irvin will be out from the lineup for the next 6-8 weeks.

Irvin will undergo a back procedure at the University of Michigan Hospital, which will force his hiatus from practice activities.

“We expect a 100 percent recovery for Zak after this procedure,” said Beilein.
