Windsor: Rudock, now a Lion, already a proven commodity

The Detroit Lions drafted the best quarterback in this year’s NFL draft. Not the best prospect, but the best quarterback.

Or could be, anyway. How do we know otherwise?

Crazy?

Actually, no, Jake Rudock can play.

It just took him a few games to settle into the job at Michigan last fall. Once he did, no one was better last season.

Sure, others had better arms, passed for more yards, threw behind better lines and had more playmakers for which to throw. But no one else in the country transferred in as a fifth-year graduate and helped turn an iconic program from an also-ran to a contender.
