The topic is sometimes missed when talking about college athletics, but for the walk-on portion of a team, it’s a labor of love rather than one with tangible rewards. That was the case for redshirt junior kicker Kenny Allen, but now he also gets same benefit of a scholarship like so many of his teammates.
Allen was offered a scholarship by Oregon State when he was in high school, but the Fenton native turned down that option to stay closer to home and attend the school of his dreams.
“The education here is second to none,” Allen said of Michigan.
