Two exciting finishes -- but no $2 million -- for Michigan alums in high-stakes basketball tournament

Without two key players from its original roster, a basketball team consisting of several former Michigan players lost in the second round of a $2-million tournament last weekend.

Competing in the fifth annual The Basketball Tournament (TBT), the Big X squad, which included former Wolverines Stuart Douglass, Andrew Dakich, Mark Donnal, and Jon Horford, won on Saturday but lost on Sunday in the single-elimination event.

As its name indicates, Big X included several former Big Ten players, including Wisconsin's Vitto Brown and Illinois' Nnanna Egwu. Gabe DeVoe, who played with Donnal at Clemson, Jamel Morris, and Harry Rafferty also competed.
