Seidel: Michigan football bonding in Rome, one paintball at a time

ROME— Paintballs were whizzing through the air, as Michigan’s Khaleke Hudson charged across the battlefield.

Rashan Gary sat back, sniping away — “I had 15 headshots!”

And Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh sat behind a protective netting Tuesday, his famous khakis splattered with paint — the sign of somebody who had been hit repeatedly and knocked out of the competition — while watching the championship of the first-ever Michigan football paintball championship in Rome.

“I’ve never done this before,” Harbaugh said, “but this is fantastic.”

The Wolverines took a break from their sight-seeing visits around Rome to play some paintball.
