Report: Tyrone Wheatley leaving Michigan staff for Jaguars

Tyrone Wheatley is leaving Michigan after two years to join Doug Marrone, with whom he has worked on two other staffs, with the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to a media report Saturday night.

Wheatley is expected to coach running backs according to a report Saturday night by Alex Marvez of the Sporting News. He has been serving as Michigan’s running backs coach.

He worked on Marrone’s staffs at Syracuse and with the Buffalo Bills.

Wheatley, who was a standout running back for the Wolverines in the early ’90s, was originally under contract with Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh’s staff for two seasons.
