Michigan is the only Big Ten football program without an updated roster for 2017. Athletic department officials say one would be released prior to its season opener against Florida.
But sister website NJ.com is hoping to speed up the process.
NJ Advance Media said Thursday it has submitted a Freedom of Information Act request with the University of Michigan for a copy of the team's updated roster.
"While it's a severe NCAA violation to pay college athletes, it's only a violation of decency - not to mention plain old silly - to mess with diehard fans and media trying to do a job," writes NJ.
