Michigan's Chris Partridge earns pay bump, new coaching duties

ANN ARBOR -- Chris Partridge has a new contract, with a significant pay bump and new job responsbilies.

The Michigan football assistant coach inked a new memorandum of understanding with the university on Jan. 11, one that will make Partridge the new safeties and special teams coordinator beginning with the 2018 season.

Partridge's new two-year contact lasts through the 2019 season, expiring on Jan. 10, 2020, according to the document obtained by MLive via a Freedom of Information Act request.

The new contract pays Partridge, 36, an annual base salary of $500,000, an increase of $150,000 from his previous two-year contract.
