Michigan staffers Jim Minick, Biff Poggi leaving program for other jobs

ANN ARBOR -- Jim Harbaugh's football program is going through some turnover on the administrative level this offseason.

Harbaugh confirmed Saturday that associate athletic director for football Jim Minick is no longer with the program.

Minick, per Harbaugh, opted to leave his position after two-plus years to take a job with the military. Minick, a childhood friend of Harbaugh's, was the head coach's first official hire after Harbaugh took the job in late 2014.

One of Harbaugh's most trusted advisors, Minick -- referred to as "The Colonel" by players and staffers -- came to Michigan in 2015 after a long military career with the Marines.
