Michigan remains ‘adamantly opposed’ to playing Friday night football

Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel reiterated Monday night after Jim Harbaugh’s radio show that Michigan will not play in Friday night games at Michigan Stadium or away.

The Big Ten last week announced that the Big Ten television contract will include Friday night games. Manuel said the decision to not participate in Friday night games was made by either former athletic director Dave Brandon or former interim athletic director Jim Hackett before Manuel became AD earlier this year.

“When I came in and heard, I was glad to hear it, because I would have been adamantly opposed,” Manuel said.
