Michigan holds off Nebraska in high scoring victory

If improving the defense was a primary goal, Michigan came out of Saturday’s matchup with Nebraska still with a lot of room to grow. Entering the contest on a two-game losing skid though, the Wolverines were happy to grab a 91-85 victory, holding off the Cornhuskers to pull even in conference play.

The Maize and Blue led for the whole game, but struggled to distance themselves, surviving an offensive onslaught from Tai Webster, who had 28 points and nine rebounds, and Glynn Watson Jr., who scored 22. Nebraska racked up a season best 44 points in the paint, which also marked a worst moment for the Michigan interior defense.
