Michigan football tight end Mustapha Muhammad has entered the transfer portal.
Muhammad, a redshirt freshman, announced his decision on Twitter on Monday afternoon.
A team spokesperson later confirmed that Muhammad alerted the team of his intentions to enter the portal.
Although Muhammad entered the portal, it does not mean his departure from U-M is a foregone conclusion. He will be able to be contacted by other programs, but could choose to remove his name from the portal and return to the Wolverines.
