Saline – The color of the day wasn't maize and blue. It was orange, Chad Carr's favorite.
People from all walks of life waited more than an hour to honor Carr, the beloved 5-year-old who inspired the phrase "Chad Tough" and bonded families, friends, rivals and strangers from around the world.
Chad Carr died last Monday after a 15-month battle with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma, for which there is no cure.
The entire Michigan football team attended the ceremony and some acted as ushers for the hundreds that came by to pay respects Sunday at the Saline High Performing Arts Center.
