Lions take Michigan's Graham Glasgow in third round

Allen Park — For the first time since 2001, the Lions have drafted a Michigan player.

With the 95th overall pick in the third round, the Lions selected former Wolverines center Graham Glasgow, who should compete with Travis Swanson for the starting job.

The 6-foot-6, 307-pound Glasgow is a bit taller than most centers, but after being considered a fringe his senior season prospect, he impressed at multiple all-star games and proved to be worthy of a Day 2 draft pick.

The Lions were unimpressed by Swanson’s first full season as a starter. A third-round pick in 2014, Swanson started 14 games last year, but was too often overpowered.
