ANN ARBOR, MI - John Beilein is now the David and Meredith Kaplan Men's Basketball Head Coach at Michigan, following the approval of an endowment of the position at the UM Board of Regents on Thursday, June 15.
The University of Michigan Athletic Department has received a $7.5 million gift from UM alums David and Meredith Kaplan to provide funding for the Michigan head basketball position. The gift also counts toward the David and Meredith Kaplan Men's Basketball Endowed Scholarship Fund and athletic department facility improvements.
The Kaplans have joined other donors to endow a high-profile position within the athletic department.
