Detroit Lions nab Michigan QB Jake Rudock in 6th round

The Lions picked Michigan quarterback Jake Rudock with their first of three sixth-round picks, No. 191 overall. He was the 16th pick of the sixth round.

Rudock worked out for several teams, including the Lions.

Rudock completed 64% of his passes and threw 20 touchdowns and nine interceptions last season with the Wolverines, after transferring from Iowa, where he played for two seasons.

Rudock was not invited to the NFL scouting combine in February and was pegged as a seventh-round pick or a priority free agent. He will compete with veteran backup Dan Orlovsky, whom the Lions recently signed to a one-year extension.
