Brown, Carter, Woodson Named to FWAA 75th Anniversary All-America Team

DALLAS, Texas -- The Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) announced its 75th Anniversary All-America Team today (Thursday, Aug. 20), and the team includes three former U-M players: defensive backs Charles Woodson (1995-97; 1st Team Defense) and Dave Brown (1971-74; 3rd Team Defense) and wide receiver Anthony Carter (1979-82).

The FWAA, which was founded in 1941, has picked an annual All-America team since the 1944 season, making it the second-longest continuously selected team in major college football.

As the 1997 Heisman Trophy recipient and one of Michigan's three Heisman Trophy winners, Woodson became the first primarily defensive player to win the award given yearly to college football's top player.
