TAMPA, Fla. -- T.J. Weist is getting a new head set for the Birmingham Bowl.
The Bay City native and former University of Michigan assistant was named interim head coach for the University of South Florida football team for the remainder of the season, which entails the team's Birmingham Bowl game against South Carolina Dec. 29.
USF coach Willie Taggart was named head coach at the University of Oregon on Wednesday. Weist served as co-offensive coordinator for the Bulls this season and was promoted to the top spot for the bowl game.
