Wolverines 7, Bulldogs 6: Michigan softball advances to 11th Women's College World Series

ANN ARBOR -- Michigan needed both of its starting pitchers and every run it got Friday to knock off Georgia, 7-6, and win its Super Regional series.

After Megan Betsa allowed three runs and was chased from the circle in the first inning, she came back in the bottom of the seventh to get the final out with the Bulldogs' game-winning run at the plate.

Betsa forced Niaja Griffin to pop up with a full count and Sierra Romero made the catch to send Michigan to its 11th Women's College World Series.

The Wolverines fell behind, 3-0 in the first inning but battled back with six runs through the next four innings to go up 6-3.
