After a months-long investigation into Michigan's athletic department's handling of an on-the-field football injury involving quarterback Shane Morris, university President Mark Schlissel said he has "accepted the comprehensive review of in-game player safety procedures."
The review was prompted after Morris took a late hit from Minnesota's Therin Cockran during the fourth quarter of a 30-14 home loss on Sept. 27. Morris was visibly shaken up and had to be helped to his feet by other Michigan players.
Ex-head coach Brady Hoke left Morris in the game after and it turned out Morris had suffered a "possible mild concussion" and a high ankle, the athletic department said.
