Michigan Football Recruiting: 2017 Four-Star Cornerback Taking Long Look At Wolverines

The Michigan Wolverines extended an offer to 2017 four-star cornerback William Poole back on May 7th, and the Atlanta (GA) Hapeville product was more than excited about it -- he was relieved.

"I was honestly relieved to get the news," Poole said, via 247Sports. "The biggest reason was because they had come up to watch me practice the day before, so it felt good to know that I performed well enough for them to want to offer me a scholarship."

Poole doesn't know too much about Ann Arbor residing in Georgia, but the hiring of Jim Harbaugh sure piqued his interest.

"There's definitely more I need to learn about them," he said. "However, with them bringing in Coach Harbaugh, you definitely know that he's a great coach and has a staff with a lot of NFL experiences. I'm really pumped up to see how they perform on the field this season."

While Harbaugh's NFL experience could play a huge factor in his decision, there are other things he's weighing across his list of offers before making a decision.

"Great coaches with great experience is something you're always going to keep in mind," he said. "I feel like that NFL experience will give players an edge as far as what you can expect at the next level. Those players will be better prepared than others. That way, if you're fortunate enough to make it, you'll already have an idea of what to potentially expect. I'm also looking at the graduation rate for each program and my relationship with whoever would be my position coach at the school I choose. I want to experience the atmosphere also. If I'm going to spend three or four years at a school, I obviously want to be comfortable."
