Playing a quiet role Friday, Michigan State-commit Xavier Tillman took just three shots at the Breslin Center while playing unselfish ball as Grand Rapids Christian took down Romulus 74-52 to advance to the Class A final.
The 6-foot-8, No. 1-ranked guard opted to pass and play staunch defense as Michigan State coach Tom Izzo watched from beneath the hoop. With just five points, Tillman made an impact on the other end, with eight rebounds, six assists and seven blocks as the Eagles overcame a 1-point halftime deficit to build a 21-3 run in the third quarter.
