On January 7 of next season, Michigan State will face Penn State at the Palestra in Philadelphia, MLive learned Friday from multiple sources. Though it serves as the University of Pennsylvania's home court, the historic venue will serve as the Nittany Lions' home gym against the Spartans in a Big Ten game.
Neither school could confirm the game being moved.
In the 2016-17 Big Ten schedule, Michigan State and Penn State are only set to meet once in a PSU home game.
The game will be Izzo's first at the Palestra, one of the hallowed homes of college basketball.
