Neil’s Notebook: Reenergized Spartans Host First-Place Minnesota

EAST LANSING – Five weeks ago, Michigan State was mired in a miserable eight-game losing streak that started in mid-December.

The Spartans finally found their way out of that difficult stretch and are 4-3-1 in their last eight games, unbeaten in their last three (2-0-1) and eager to finish the regular season with a flourish.

Fresh off a week in which it did not play, Michigan State resumes its quest to be the team nobody wants to play in the upcoming Big Ten Tournament with two consecutive home series to close the regular season.
