It seems like every week a new Michigan State player is being named to a major collegiate award watch list. Although these lists mean virtually nothing right now as they’re always subject to change during the season, it is still something special to see a Spartan earning respect from college football’s experts.

On Tuesday morning, senior linebacker Darien Harris was named to the Butkus Award watch list for the nation’s top linebacker, the only Spartan linebacker to receive the preseason honor. While it may be another year until Riley Bullough earns a spot on the list, fellow senior Ed Davis was surely snubbed.
