Former Spartan Scott Skiles will be named next Magic head coach

Former Michigan State Spartan Scott Skiles is expected to be named the next head coach of the Orlando Magic sometime within the next week, or so, according to reports.

Skiles played for Michigan State from 1982-86 and was a solid point guard under Jud Heathcoate and was drafted in the first round of the 1986 NBA Draft. He played 10 years in the NBA before switching over to coaching just two years after retirement.

Orlando isn’t the most popular destination these days for players, or coaches for that matter, but Skiles seems to be very interested in getting back into coaching after resigning from the Bucks in 2012-13 and the Magic could be a good fit.
