PHILADELPHIA -- Felo Ramirez, the Marlins’ legendary Spanish-language radio broadcaster, was being held for observation at a hospital after falling and suffering head lacerations.
Ramirez, 93, fell while stepping off the team bus following the Marlins’ 7-4 loss to the Phillies on Wednesday. The Marlins are staying in Wilmington, Delaware.
Ramirez is a member of the baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown and has a street named for him outside Marlins Park in Little Havana.
According to the Marlins, Ramirez was in stable condition.
