Loria appointment to Trump administration could doom proposed Marlins sale

The group of Donald Trump family members that is negotiating to buy the Marlins announced on Wednesday night that they will not purchase the team if Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria is named ambassador to France.

The New York Post reported earlier Wednesday evening that White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus is pushing for Loria to be named ambassador to France and that Trump is on board.

As we reported here earlier tonight, the Marlins have been working toward selling the team to a group led by Joshua Kushner, who is the brother of Trump’s son in law, and Joseph Meyer, who is Kushner’s brother-in-law.
