Dodgers bring the Marlins back down to earth with 6-3 win

LOS ANGELES -- The Marlins haven’t won back-to-back games in a month of Sundays.

That’s right. The Marlins have literally gone four weeks since posting back-to-back wins, with the last instance coming on April 23 -- a Sunday. Their luck didn’t improve Sunday when, one night after taking down the Dodgers in a 10-6 win, they followed up with a 6-3 loss that followed the same pattern as most of their others over the past month.

The pitching wasn’t good, and either was the hitting.

Vance Worley wasn’t the answer. Worley, called up to replace injured Tom Koehler in the rotation, lasted for all of four innings before manager Don Mattingly decided he was better off turning the mound over to the bullpen.
