After the graduations of senior leaders Adrienne Motley, Jessica Thomas and Keyona Hayes and with point guard Laura Cornelius set to redshirt after tearing her ACL in the offseason, the Hurricanes women’s basketball team will be in transition this season.
Their conference schedule will force them to try and find their way quickly.
The Hurricanes, who were 24-9 a season ago and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament are set to take on six ACC teams that finished last season ranked in the AP Top 25. And they’ll open conference play against two of the league’s traditionally strong powers, Duke on Dec.
