UM exploring options if stadium renovations not finished ahead of Sept. 3 opener

When the Dolphins released their 2016 schedule, one thing was quickly noticeable.

The team will open the season with two road games, meaning the Dolphins won’t play their first regular-season game at their newly renovated home until Sept. 25 when they host the Cleveland Browns.

Is that a built-in cushion in case ongoing construction work at the stadium isn’t completed? Maybe. And that may work out just fine for the Dolphins. But what happens to the Hurricanes, who are set to play two games at the stadium before the Dolphins’ regular-season opener.
