Brad Crawford of 247 Sports posted his “College football bowl projections for 2023 season: Summer edition” on Tuesday. Crawford projects that the Miami football team will play Texas Tech in the Pop-Tarts (formerly Cheez-It) Bowl in Orlando. Miami played in the same game after the 2016 and 2020 seasons.
Miami defeated West Virginia 31-14 in the 2016 game in the final appearance for quarterback Brad Kaaya in a Hurricanes uniform. Oklahoma State defeated Miami 37-34 in the 2020 (then) Cheez-It Bowl. Texas Tech finished the 2022 season 8-5. The Red Raiders finished the 2022 season with four straight wins.
