OMAHA, Neb. — Miami's Jacob Heyward made the plays, big and small, Monday.
Heyward had a home run and a game-ending single during Miami’s 4-3 win against Arkansas in the College World Series at TD Ameritrade Park.
Miami (50-16) will play Wednesday; while Arkansas (40-25) was the first team eliminated from the eight-team field.
Heyward, the ninth hitter in Miami’s order, was 3-for-3 -- none bigger than the a line drive to centerfield that ended the 3-hour, 43-minute game.
Willie Abreu led off the bottom of the ninth with a double off the base of the centerfield wall.
