Six Miami athletes are or have competed in Rio De Janeiro. In addition to Dorman, rising sophomore Marcela Maric is the first diver to ever qualify from Croatia, Alumna Heather Arseth swam for Mauritius in the 100 meter freestyle, Alumna Marielle Ahoure ran the 100 and 200 meters for Ivory Coast, recent alumnus Alysha Newman competed in Pole Vault for Canada, alumna 39 year old Aisha Chow rowed in the single sculls for Trinidad and Tobago, and Carolina Perez was the goalie for the Colombian soccer team. The Miami presence should help the Hurricanes in recruiting.
