Miami Hurricanes quarterback Brad Kaaya and running back Joe Yearby on Tuesday were among the 90 players named to Maxwell Award Watch List.
The award is given annually the nation’s best college football player. The semifinalists will be announced Oct. 31, with the winner named Dec. 8.
A junior, Kaaya completed 238 of 389 passes for 3,238 yards with 16 touchdowns and five interceptions last year. He also ranked No. 1 in the Atlantic Coast Conference with 274.5 yards a game. Kaaya is set to begin his third straight season as the UM starter.
