'Canes salvage series with Sunday win over FSU

Late Saturday night, after Miami fell to in-state rival Florida State by 10 runs and saw another series against the Seminoles slip away, Hurricanes coach Jim Morris and outfielder Ricky Eusebio said that somehow, Miami would find a way to bounce back and rally.

Behind some powerful offense, that’s just what the Hurricanes did on Sunday afternoon.

Miami scored in each of the first five innings and got home runs from four different players in a 12-0 victory over FSU that helped the Hurricanes avoid a three-game sweep by the Seminoles.

The win came after a marathon six-hour, 17-inning 8-7 loss to FSU on Friday night and early into Friday morning and a 15-5 loss to the Seminoles on Saturday night.
