At the end of every season, the entire NBA reconvenes to select the next crop of superstars and sometimes that wish comes true. But for every Paul George, Russell Westbrook and Dwyane Wade, there are those picks that just don’t pan out.
One could argue that fit and timing matter more in the NBA than in any other sport, with that incoming draft pick absorbing that particular team’s culture. The Miami Heat have marketed their own culture for many years, but it wasn’t there from the very start and it certainly doesn’t work on everybody.
Here are five players drafted by the Heat who, for their own respective reasons, didn’t work out in Miami.
