MIAMI (CBSMiami) — He’s best known for his smooth jump shot but next month, it may be fruit smoothies and shots of wheatgrass that put Ray Allen back in Miami’s spotlight.
In March, the former Heat superstar, two-time NBA champion and actor is opening up Grown, an organic fast food restaurant that promises to shake up the way we think about eating healthy.
Allen told CBS4 news partner The Miami Herald that the idea came from dealing with his 9-year-old son’s battle with Type 1 diabetes and the struggles he and his wife found getting the right nutrient-rich food for the child.
