Miami Heat forward Haywood Highsmith was cited with "careless and negligent" driving by the Miami-Dade Police Department after his alleged role in a car accident that left a man with a partially amputated right leg, per ESPN.

It was not a criminal citation, and Highsmith was not injured.

The injured man was reportedly helping a woman with her disabled car—which had its lights out—when Highsmith approached in his vehicle, driving at 45 mph, 5 mph over the speed limit. He wasn't able to stop his car in time before hitting both the vehicle and the man who was behind it.
