Babbitt, a 6’9”, 225 lb. sharp-shooting forward from Cincinnati, Ohio, was born on June 20th, 1989. The Minnesota Timberwolves selected him in the first round of the 2010 NBA Draft, with the 16th overall choice after two seasons at the University of Nevada. He averaged 19.4 points, 8.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 37.1 minutes per game. He also shot .421 from three-point distance. The Wolves traded him immediately to the Portland Trail Blazers with Ryan Gomes for Martell Webster.

Babbitt played in 126 games over the next three seasons with the Blazers, then signed on as a free agent with the New Orleans Pelicans on February 4th, 2014.
