Miami Heat Rumors: Ray Allen considering Heat or Celtics

The Clippers reached deals with free agent guards Jamal Crawford and Chauncey Billups on Thursday, per Broderick Turner of the Los Angeles Times, and ended their pursuit of Ray Allen in the process. The Clips cancelled Friday's scheduled meeting with Allen after coming to terms with the two veteran scoring guards.

What this means for Allen is that his choice is now a little simpler. In reality, the Clippers were probably the third option anyway, but now that they are out of the running it's down to this: stay in Boston, where you can earn more, are comfortable and beloved; or take less money for a run at the title with the LeBron, Dwyane and the Heat as the team's three-point specialist.

"With LAC out, going to Heat would mean Allen would have to sign for half BOS offer + betray Pierce & Garnett. That's a tough sell," tweets Brian Windhorst of ESPN.com.

Will Allen be the next future hall of famer to take his talents to South Beach? He's visiting the Heat today, so expect a decision shortly. Perhaps by the end of the day.
