Seven Dolphins starters from season-opener sit out Patriots game

MIAMI GARDENS - Miami Dolphins Pro Bowl center Mike Pouncey (foot/ankle) heads the list of expected inactive player for Sunday’s game against New England.

Cornerback Jamar Taylor, who has been in the doghouse for weeks, linebacker Jelani Jenkins (ankle), defensive tackle Earl Mitchell (calf), right tackle Ja’Wuan James (toe), guard Shelley Smith and quarterback Logan Thomas are the other inactive players.

Pouncey, James, Mitchell and Jenkins' absence means the Dolphins will play Sunday's game without seven of the team's starters from the season opener. Pass rusher Cameron Wake was placed on injured reserve with an Achilles injury at midseason.
