Roster cut deadline looming; First cuts down to 75

The NFL’s deadline for the first set of roster cuts is coming next week. Teams will have to reduce their rosters from 90 players to 75 players.

The first set of roster cuts for the NFL’s 2016 season are coming. The league allows teams during the offseason and through the first two weeks of the preseason to carry up to 90 players on the roster. The league then drops the roster limit to 75 players before the third preseason game. After the fourth preseason game, teams will again have to cut players as the roster limit decreases to the regular season 53-man roster limit.
