OXFORD, Miss. – The University of Memphis men's basketball team made a gallant second-half effort, but the Tigers were unable to overcome serious foul trouble in an 85-77 non-conference setback to Ole Miss Saturday.
The game was Memphis' first road game of the 2016-17 campaign. It also was the Tigers' first visit to the Rebels' new basketball facility, The Pavilion at Ole Miss. Memphis last played the Rebels in Oxford in the 2010 postseason, and that game was held at Tad Smith Coliseum.
The loss dropped the Tigers to 6-2. Memphis now takes the week off from competition for final exams before returning to action Dec.
