MEMPHIS – Junior men's tennis player came back from a 6-1 first set loss and won the second set by an identical 6-1 score to force a third set in semifinal action at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships presented by Oracle, Sunday.
In the third set, Peniston and Kentucky's Beck Pennington still could not resolve the match and went to a tiebreaker. Peniston pushed through a 7-3 tiebreaker to claim the set and a berth in the singles championship final, Monday.
Peniston will face another Kentucky foe on Monday in the final. Trey Yates from Kentucky took out top seeded Daniel Valent from Vanderbilt in straight sets in the other semifinal, 6-3, 6-4, to grab his finals spot.
