Miscues lead to Memphis setback at UConn

STORRS, Conn. – Miscues plagued the Tigers in their series opener on Friday afternoon as Memphis dropped a 3-1 contest at UConn at J.O. Christian Field.

Memphis (16-15, 3-4) grabbed an early lead, but UConn (22-12, 6-4) plated three unanswered runs and took advantage of three Memphis errors.

Hunter Smith took the loss on the mound despite surrendering no earned runs. The senior threw seven innings and struck out six.

At the dish, Kyle Ouellette posted a mutli-hit effort after a 3-for-4 performance.

The Tigers struck first in the opening frame when Hunter Goodman drove in Colton Neel on an RBI single.
