Memphis Wins Late at Arkansas State

JONESBORO, Ark. – Memphis got an outstanding team pitching performance and Tyler Webb provided some ninth-inning heroics to give Memphis a 2-1 win at Arkansas State Tuesday night at Tomlinson Stadium. The Tigers (23-19) have won back-to-back games for the first time in four weeks.

Alex Hicks started for Memphis and pitched five scoreless innings with six strikeouts. The sophomore allowed just one hit in the outing. Connor Alexander was the first man out of the bullpen, tossing two innings and allowing just one run on two hits.

Alexander was the bridge to Blake Bennett and Colton Hathcock, who both pitched scoreless innings to close out the game.
