Memphis More Than Doubles Its Crowd-Funding Goal

MEMPHIS – University of Memphis athletic director today announced that the crowd-funding effort following the Tigers' 51-7 football victory over SMU exceeded the $20,000 goal.

The win on Saturday was the sixth of the 2016 season and made the Tigers bowl eligible for the third-consecutive season. Immediately following the game, Memphis sent out a request to celebrate this great feat with a contribution to the Tiger Scholarship Fund. The goal of the effort was to raise $20,000 in 72 hours.

In total, the campaign raised $50,281, which was 251% of the original goal.

"The rise of this football program has happened in large part because of the energy, passion and generosity of our fans and donors," said Bowen.
