Maryland football has a 77.3% chance of getting bowl-eligible

Maryland football is mired in a two-game losing streak and the Terps haven’t looked nearly as good against Big Ten competition as they did against the teams they played in the first few games.

But according to Bill Connelly’s advanced metrics, the team still has a good chance a make a bowl game this season.

The Terps’ chances of getting to six wins — the minimum needed to become bowl eligible — is 77.3 percent, according to Connelly’s S&P+.

That’s down from 88.3 after last week’s loss to Minnesota.

For those looking for a more human touch, SB Nation’s Jason Kirk still projects the team to play North Carolina in the Pinstripe Bowl.
